10 Romantic Ways to Wrap a Gift
You've found the perfect romantic gift, something to melt their heart or weaken the knees, but wait, your task is not quite finished... After putting plenty of effort into finding your loved one the perfect gift don't underestimate the final stage, presentation is key! You've got this far so don't fall at the last hurdle with some uninspiring wrapping paper! Wrapping your gift can be just as fun, personal and romantic as the gift itself so be creative and thoughtful (please!) when adding the finishing touches. Providing the complete package is guaranteed to win you extra brownie points, so don't cut corners, instead pull out all the stops... wrap with romance in mind and romance will out!
1. For the creative, yet romantic, crafty-gift-giver you can use an old cardboard box to conceal your present and decorate with all sorts of relevant odds and sods to make it extra special. A collage of collected items from the past year such as photos, receipts, concert tickets, anything relevant to you both, can be a very thoughtful way to decorate your present and complete the package. Top it off with a large gift tag of a photo of you both, slightly cheesy? Who cares!
2. To get the ultimate seal of approval from your other half complete your gift with a romantic Wax Seal. You can stamp a heart wax seal or a personalised wax seal of you and your partner's initials.
3. Handwrite a beautiful love letter or poem on some high quality paper and wrap your gift in this.
4. If you're treating your other half to a voucher, why not throw them off the scent by adding some puffing good effort to your gift wrapping. Roll or fold your voucher and insert into a deflated balloon, blow several balloons up, ideally with helium so they float aloft, then add a piece of ribbon to each of them and hand them to your loved one. They may well be slightly dismayed and disappointed at first to receive a handful of balloons... until they realise they have to burst each balloon to find their present! Poptastic!
5. For the classic more traditional romantic a simple elegant way to wrap your beloveds gift is to place the gift in the middle of a sheet of cellophane, sprinkle with plenty of fresh, fake or freeze dried rose petals (these can be reused later in the bath or bedroom...) Gather the four corners of the cellophane and tie with a large classic ribbon, simple but oh so effective. A decadent way to make your other half feel extra special.
6. A cheap, environmentally friendly and thoughtful (win win all round!) way to wrap your loved ones gift is to use their favourite section of a newspaper or magazine to wrap it up in and tie with a shoe lace or string. Simple, slightly rugged, but thoughtful.
7. If you fancy getting your creative hat on and getting your hands messy why not paint a picture on a large piece of paper and use it as wrapping paper, seal with blue tack so as not to ruin your master piece, then kindly request your partner opens their present carefully so as not to rip your art work, they may even prefer the wrapping paper to the gift! They can display your painting on their fridge, cute!
8. For the knitting fiends among you go woolly and wild and knit a cute snugly sock (if you're feeling really kind you could knit the pair) and enclose your present inside the sock with a simple piece of string. Or knit a tea cosy with a teapot beneath with your present inside the teapot! Or for egg lovers why not knit an egg cosy with a small gift in an egg cup. Fluffing lovely!
9. If you have a sweet-toothed other half fill a large glass jar full of their favourite sweets/chocolates /popcorn and hide your present within the sweet fest, they'll have to eat their way through the jar to find the gift! Yum! To complete the sealed jar tie a sweetie necklace and add a gift tag saying "Eat Me!"
10. For the explorers among you get trawling around a boot fair or charity shop for a large old map and mark (with hearts of course) where you've visited together and where you still wish to go... daydream away... ahem, then wrap your present in the map. A wee tip – if you only have a little present and want the whole map on display simply put the present in a large box and wrap! Genius!
